The second of my last minute Beauty Box posts all of which are shot with flash – sorry. These days I run out of daylight quick and so I had to make do. Those of you who subscribe to this service will have received the little note from Lord & Berry apologising for the quality of the previous months products and explaining the edition of an additional full sized item in this months box to make up for it. Last month I received an eyeliner which was nice enough but seemed to have the lead set too far in to the pencil so it needed sharpening before I could use it and a mascara that was a bit dry and no good for me but I’m so picky with mascara that I assumed that was normal. I wasn’t impressed but I was happy to see that the brand had obviously listened to feedback and acted on it.. plus y’know.. free lipstick!

What’s In The Box?

Absolution Le Soin Purifiant- 50ml £24

It’s a good job there was a card explaining what this was because there’s no english on the packaging at all. Apparently it’s a skin renewing mask containing white clay to tighten pores.. interesting! I have a draw for samples which this will go in for my next trip away, I like to take a variety of skin care cause you just never know and mini masks like this are really handy.

Jelly Pong Pong 2 in 1 Bronze Shadow/Liner  – £10.50

I also received one of these in my Miss Glossybox this month so I will likely give the second away to a friend but I was really impressed with it and will definitely get some use out of it. The colour is a deep bronze and you can see from the washed out swatches below it smudges out well.. not sure I’ll be using it as a full on shadow though.

Mitchell & Peach Shower Wash – 250ml £20

I’ve received other products from Mitchell & Peach before.. they’re nice but I’m not in a hurry to purchase a £20 shower gel so off to the sample drawer this goes as well. It’s nice to have a little luxury mini for a trip away even if I wouldn’t buy the full size.

Models Own Red Alert – £5

Nail polish is always a good inclusion in a beauty box but Models Own is great, there were a few different colour options this month and I chose red cause I don’t already have one from the brand and it seemed like the festive choice.

Art Deco Hydra Lip Booster – £11.50

This I’ve already used and really like, it felt very balmy and stayed on longer than your average gloss. There’s little in the way of colour but reading the card is claims to have ‘hylauronic filling spheres’ which gave me a giggle because once upon a time when I worked at Urban Decay that was one of our key selling points we were told to mention when applying any of the base products to a customer. I thought it sounded mad then and now you can’t get away from those pesky bubbles.

The bonus Lord & Berry lipstick I got is in the shade Intensity.. not for everyone but I love these deep neutral shades for Winter so I may just have to include this in my upcoming ’12 Days Of Lipstick’ series. Overall I’m really happy with this months box and I’m yet to be disappointed by this service.. I’m trialling the glossy services again this month and am planning on trying some others in the New Year but other than SheSaidBeauty and Carmine which I also quite liked (but I believe is now Birchbox) this is the only one I’ve really liked month after month so if you’re thinking of subscribing to a box I’d give this a go!
